What is The Code?
The Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism (the Code) is a project joining the tourism private sector and the children’s rights non-governmental organization ECPAT, aiming to prevent sexual exploitation of children at tourism destinations. Hotels, airlines, travel agents and organizations that sign the Code commit to establishing a corporate policy against commercial sexual exploitation of children and they train employees in signs of human trafficking and how to report suspected cases. The following hotel chains are among the over 80 hotel chains have signed on to the Code: Hilton, Hyatt, Hampton, Radisson, Carlson, Doubletree, and Comfort Inn.
