Update from the United Nations on Refugees and Migrants

This has been a historic week for refugees around the world.  By your actions to help refugees you helped make it possible. Last Friday a petition signed by over a million people worldwide urging the United Nations to help refugees was delivered to the UN Secretary General.

On Monday at the Summit on refugees and migrants, 193 countries adopted the New York Declaration which includes bold commitments to resettle and reunite more refugees, share responsibility and protect refugee rights such as the right to education and the right to work. The following day, 50 countries and organizations pledged concrete actions to improve opportunities for refugee resettlement, education or employment.
