Today marks the of the shooting in Newtown.

NBC News tallied 554 cases of children under 12 killed in intentional or accidental shootings since the Newtown massacre — an average of one death every two days.

Over 90,000 people nationwide have been killed by gun violence since December 14, 2012.

A father of one of the victims, Lenny Pozner, has spent the past three years protecting his murdered son’s honor by fighting back against conspiracy theorists who believe the shooting was a hoax.

“In a country with 330 million people and 310 million guns, the suggestion that the problem is we don’t have enough guns available just doesn’t seem to hold much weight.”

Eric Fleegler, MD, Boston Children’s Hospital
