New York City Offers Prayer for Peace in Iraq

SM Antonelle Chunka and S Maryann Agnes Mueller participated in a Liturgy and Vigil of Prayer for Peace in Iraq on Monday evening in New York City.

The Liturgy was celebrated at Holy Innocents Church followed by the Candlelight Vigil, which took place at Herald Square at 34th Street and Broadway. Participants were called to remember especially the persecuted Christians in Iraq.

The Liturgy and Vigil for Peace took place on the feast of St. Clare of Assisi who, according to tradition, gained victory against an invading army by placing the Blessed Sacrament in the window of her convent and by praying for peace.
