In his recent pilgrimage, Pope Francis has issued a call to pray for peace in the Holy Land and in the Middle East. He also urges the acknowledgment by all of the right of Israel and Palestine to exist and to live in peace and security within internationally recognized borders.

“I can only express my profound hope,’ Pope Francis said, ‘that all will refrain from initiatives and actions which contradict the stated desire to reach a true agreement, and that peace will be pursued with tireless determination and tenacity.”

Catholics throughout the world are asked to take a minute for silent prayer on Friday, June 6 at Noon in solidarity and communion with Pope Francis and the Israeli and Palestinian leaders who will be meeting in the Vatican.
